What Divya Jyot is
Divya Jyot brings the classical Vedic (Jyotish) system to a phone and a browser. From a date, time and place of birth it prepares a Kundali (birth chart) and the details a traditional reading draws on — planetary positions, houses, nakshatras, dosha checks, dasha periods — along with a daily Panchang and Muhurat timings.
The website offers the free, calculation-based tools. Saved charts, full reports and account features live in the mobile app, which is coming soon to Google Play.
How the charts are calculated
Planetary positions are computed from astronomical algorithms for the exact moment and place of birth, then converted to the sidereal zodiac used in Vedic astrology with the Lahiri ayanamsa correction.
Houses follow the Whole-Sign system counted from the sidereal ascendant (Lagna). Each planet’s nakshatra and pada are derived from its sidereal longitude, and the Navamsa (D9) chart is built from the same positions.
The birth time is converted to universal time using the time zone that applied at the birth place on that date, including historical daylight-saving changes, before anything else is calculated.
What you can use on this website
Kundali: Rashi (D1) and Navamsa (D9) charts, planetary positions, Moon attributes (Varna, Vashya, Yoni, Gana, Nadi, Tattva), the Panchang at the moment of birth, and Manglik, Kaal Sarp and Sade Sati checks.
Panchang: tithi, nakshatra, yoga and karana for every day of the month, anchored to sunrise at the chosen place, with auspicious and inauspicious periods.
Muhurat: a monthly calendar of dates that meet the classical conditions for marriage, griha pravesh, vehicle purchase and starting a business.
Cosmic Score: a daily score read from how today’s planetary transits relate to your own birth chart, with the main influences explained. Dasha periods follow the Vimshottari system.
Deterministic, and offline where it matters
The same birth details always produce the same chart. Results come from Divya Jyot’s own calculation engine and fixed rule sets — not from an AI system and not from an external astrology prediction service.
On this website, the Kundali and Cosmic Score are calculated inside your own browser. Birth-place search uses a place list built into the site, so what you type is not sent to a mapping service.
Calculations and interpretations are different things
Planetary positions, signs, nakshatras and timings are calculated. The descriptions that accompany them — what a transit may mean for the day, what a dosha traditionally indicates — are interpretations drawn from classical rules. They are offered for reflection and guidance, not as certainties.
Divya Jyot does not claim that astrology is scientifically proven, and it does not promise any outcome. It aims to present the traditional system carefully, transparently and consistently.
Built with privacy in mind
Guest tools keep what you enter in the page you are using: it is not saved and not sent to our servers, and it disappears when you reload. The website uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which features are used; it does not receive your birth details, name or contact information, and there are no advertising trackers. The Privacy Policy describes exactly what is and is not collected.
Checked, and honest about its limits
The calculation engine is checked against a fixed set of reference birth charts every time it changes, so an unintended change in results is caught before it ships. That checks consistency; it is not an independent certification of astrological accuracy.
Accurate birth details matter: an error of a few minutes in the birth time can change the Lagna and everything built on it.
In your language
The website is available in English, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada. Changing the language changes how results are written — never the calculation behind them.
